This Privacy Policy explains how Dietium (“Recipians”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the Recipians mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

Health Connect and other health integrations

If you connect Recipians to Google Health Connect, Apple Health, Fitbit, or another supported health or fitness service, Recipians may request access to specific categories of data that you authorize.

You control these permissions through the applicable operating system or third-party service. You may withdraw access at any time through the settings provided by the relevant service.

Health Connect provides granular permissions allowing users to control which health information applications can access.

Recipians only requests the categories of health information necessary for the features you choose to use.

We do not sell health information.

We do not use health information obtained through Health Connect for advertising purposes or unrelated profiling.

Where applicable, our handling of Health Connect data is intended to comply with Google’s Health Connect requirements, including applicable limitations on use and disclosure.

3. Location Information

Recipians may collect or access device location information when you grant the applicable permission or otherwise provide location information to us.

Depending on the feature and your device settings, this may include:

  • Location information associated with content you voluntarily upload or share

Recipians does not use device location solely for advertising or analytics.

We do not sell your precise location information.

You may control location permissions through your device settings. If you deny or later revoke location permission, certain location-dependent features may not function properly.

Background location

If Recipians requests access to location while the app is running in the background, we will clearly explain the feature requiring that access before requesting the applicable permission.

For example:

“Recipians collects location data to provide relevant data for “what to cook now suggestions” when the app is closed or not in use.”

Google requires additional disclosure and review requirements for apps that access location in the background.

4. Device, Technical and Usage Information

When you use Recipians, we may automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including:

7. Camera, Photos, Videos and Microphone

Recipians may request access to your device camera, photo library, microphone, or video functionality when you choose to use features that require them.

  • Uploading other user-generated content
  • Capturing images or videos for recipes
  • Participating in video calls
  • Participating in cooking or recipe-learning sessions

Recipians does not access your camera, microphone, or photo library continuously unless a feature you are actively using requires such access and your device permissions allow it.

You can control these permissions through your device settings.

8. User-Generated Content

Recipians allows users to create and share content, including:

  • Videos
  • Profile photographs
  • Comments
  • Reviews

If you submit content to an area of Recipians intended to be visible to other users, that content may be displayed publicly or to the audience specified by the feature.

For example, a recipe or comment posted to a community section may be visible to other users.

Please do not submit private or sensitive information through public posts, comments, recipes, profiles, or other publicly accessible areas.

9. Messages, Chat and Coach Services

Recipians may provide messaging, chat, coaching, customer-support, or other communication features.

If Recipians offers subscriptions, purchases, or paid services, payments may be processed through third-party payment platforms, including Google Play, Apple App Store, or other payment processors.

We generally do not receive or store complete payment card numbers where payment is processed directly through the applicable app store or payment provider.

If we use advertising or advertising-related technologies, we may process information such as device identifiers, approximate location, usage information, and interaction information as permitted by applicable law and platform policies.

Health data and information obtained from Health Connect will not be used for advertising purposes where prohibited by applicable Google policies.

You may opt out of certain marketing communications by using the unsubscribe mechanism provided in the communication or by changing the relevant account settings.

18. Cookies and Similar Technologies

If you use a Recipians website or web-based service, we may use cookies, pixels, local storage, analytics technologies, and similar technologies to:

When your account is deleted, we will delete or anonymize associated personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required or permitted by law to retain certain information.

Some information may remain temporarily in backups or security records before being deleted in accordance with our retention procedures.

Google Play requires apps that allow account creation to provide users with a way to request account deletion and associated data deletion.

Make sure the in-app deletion flow actually exists before submitting the app.

Recipians is not a medical provider and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or emergency medical advice unless a particular service is expressly identified and legally authorized to do so.

Do not use Recipians as a substitute for professional medical advice.

If you have a medical condition, serious allergy, eating disorder, or other health concern, consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before making significant changes to your diet, exercise, medication, or health routine.
